We’re pretty excited about the opportunity that Washington’s own Native American communities — urban and reservation alike — are going to have to crown the winner of this year’s Governor’s race between incumbent Christine Gregoire (Democrat) and challenger Dino Rossi (Republican).

Gregoire has built a relationship with the State’s 29 tribes over the past four years, but Rossi hopes to make inroads in Indian Country, in party by emphasizing his Tlingit heritage.

We caught up with both at the recent Seafair Indian Days Pow Wow.  Pictures above.
